Know where your money stands, the moment you log in

The Platybooks dashboard gives you one clear view of your cash flow: how much you're owed, what's overdue, what you've collected this month, where the last six months are trending, and how many quotes turn into paid work. No spreadsheets, no exports, no guesswork.

What the dashboard shows you

Open Platybooks and the numbers that matter are already there. Five at-a-glance figures sit across the top, each one pulled straight from your live invoices, quotes, and payments.

Outstanding tells you the total you're still owed across every sent and partially-paid invoice. Overdue narrows that to invoices past their due date, so you know exactly what needs chasing. Paid this month sums every payment you've received since the first of the month. A six-month trend chart shows your collected income as simple monthly bars, so you can see whether things are speeding up or slowing down. And quote conversion shows how many of your issued quotes became won work, as a clear rate.

Below the headline numbers you get a short list of recent payments and a list of upcoming and overdue invoices, sorted by due date, so your next follow-up is always one glance away.

  • Outstanding: everything you're owed across open invoices
  • Overdue: invoices past their due date that need chasing
  • Paid this month: payments collected since the 1st
  • 6-month trend: monthly collected income at a glance
  • Quote conversion: the share of quotes that turn into work
  • Recent payments and upcoming or overdue invoices, by due date

How it works

There's nothing to set up and nothing to refresh by hand. The dashboard reads your real documents and payments as they happen, so every figure updates the moment an invoice is sent, a client pays, or a quote is accepted.

Money is tracked precisely and shown in your organization's currency. To keep the totals honest, summed figures like outstanding and paid-this-month are calculated in that single display currency. If you have documents in other currencies, the dashboard tells you so rather than mixing them into one misleading number.

Due dates drive the overdue logic, so the cleaner your invoice terms, the sharper the picture. Set a default payment term in Settings and every new invoice inherits a sensible due date automatically.

Why it matters

Most small-business cash-flow problems aren't about profit. They're about timing, knowing who owes you, how much, and how late. When that lives in your head or scattered across spreadsheets, things slip.

The dashboard turns that into a habit. A ten-second look each morning tells you what to chase today, whether this month is tracking ahead of last, and which quotes are still sitting unanswered. Paired with automated overdue reminders, fewer invoices drift into the overdue column in the first place, and the ones that do are impossible to miss.

The quote-conversion figure adds a second lens: not just what you're collecting, but how well your pipeline is closing. Watch it over time and you can tell whether your pricing, follow-ups, or quote turnaround are working.

Who it's for

The dashboard is built for freelancers and small-business owners who want to run on numbers without becoming bookkeepers. If you send invoices and quotes and want to stop wondering where the money is, this is your home screen.

It's a great fit for service businesses juggling several open invoices, anyone who relies on quotes to win work, and owners who want an early read on a slow month while there's still time to act on it.

The dashboard is included on every plan, including Free, so the outstanding, overdue, paid-this-month, trend, and conversion views are yours from day one. As you grow into payment links on Starter or automated reminders and scheduled sends on Pro, the dashboard simply reflects the results, and the trend lines start to take care of themselves.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to set up the dashboard or import any data?

No. The dashboard reads your live invoices, quotes, and payments automatically and updates as you work. There's nothing to configure and no reports to run or export. For the overdue view to be accurate, just make sure your invoices have due dates, which Platybooks can fill in automatically from your default payment terms.

Is the dashboard available on the Free plan?

Yes. The cash-flow dashboard, including outstanding, overdue, paid this month, the six-month trend, and quote conversion, is included on every plan, including Free. The Free plan is free forever with no credit card required. Paid plans add features that feed into the dashboard, like payment links on Starter and automated reminders on Pro.

How does the dashboard handle multiple currencies?

Money is tracked precisely and displayed in your organization's currency. Summed figures like outstanding and paid this month are calculated in that single display currency so the totals stay consistent. If you have documents in other currencies, the dashboard shows a note rather than blending them into one number. Dedicated multi-currency aggregation may expand over time.
